A 35-year-old Cobourg man is facing multiple charges after police arrested him on a warrant late Friday night.
Cobourg Police say officers were patrolling downtown just before midnight on April 25 when they spotted a man wanted for breaching a probation order. The arrest was made at approximately 11:50 p.m.
During a search following the arrest, officers allegedly found the man in possession of narcotics and a prohibited weapon – a spring-loaded, switch-activated knife.
As a result, the Cobourg resident has been charged with failing to comply with a probation order, possession of a Schedule II substance, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Police say the man was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on June 4, 2025.
Cobourg Police continue to encourage the public to report suspicious or criminal activity.
