A drug-trafficking probe by OPP’s Peterborough County/Northumberland community street crime (CSCU) unit has led to the seizure of 35 grams of crack cocaine, 20 grams of fentanyl and other drug-related items, say police.
According to OPP, on April 30, 2025, the CSCU executed a warrant at a Havelock residence, which was the subject of complaints about drug activity.
Upon entry, officers reported finding 10 people in the residence, all of whom were immediately arrested and a search was executed, leading to the alleged seizure of drugs, as well as a digital scale, two cellphones and packaging materials.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 44-year-old Havelock resident was arrested and charged possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, failure to comply with an undertaking, failure to comply with a probation order, and driving while under suspension.
A 39-year-old Havelock resident was also charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, two counts of failure to comply with a probation order, two counts of operation while prohibited, and driving while under suspension.
A 48-year-old Stouffville resident was also charged with possession of a schedule I substance –methamphetamine – and arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants and turned over to Quinte West OPP, said police.
A 61-year-old Peterborough resident was charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid, and failure to comply with a release order, reported OPP.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
All others who were found at the residence were released unconditionally, reported OPP.
