Waterfront parking rules return in Cobourg starting this Victoria Day weekend.
The Town of Cobourg is reminding residents and visitors that paid parking will be in effect from May 17 through to Thanksgiving Day, covering all on-street and pay-and-display lots near the waterfront.
Daily passes are $40 and can be used across most waterfront areas, except for the Charles Street lot, which remains reserved for Cobourg residents. Overnight parking is allowed at the East Beach parking area and the Marina Lot.
Cobourg residents can purchase a seasonal Waterfront Parking Pass for $40, with East Beach area residents receiving a reduced rate of $20. Non-residents can purchase a Visitor Season Pass for $150. All season passes are valid in most waterfront parking areas, with the Charles Street lot again reserved for Cobourg locals.
Passes can be purchased online at parking.cobourg.ca or in person at the Municipal Law Enforcement office, located at 201 Second Street. Residents are reminded to bring photo ID and details about the vehicle being registered. One pass is allowed per address, covering up to two vehicles – but only one vehicle may use the pass at a time.
The East Beach parking area will be enforced from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Payment options include the Honk Mobile app or any valid Waterfront Pass.
Town staff say an evaluation of the parking system will be brought to Council later this year.
For questions about enforcement, residents can contact Municipal Law Enforcement at 905-372-8380.
