A 23-year-old man from Hastings has been charged after a theft from a business in Alderville.
Northumberland OPP say the incident happened on April 6, 2025, when approximately $750 worth of merchandise and $60 in cash were stolen.
The theft was reported to police earlier this month, and following an investigation, officers made an arrest on May 10.
The accused is facing one charge of theft under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
Theft under $5,000 is a summary or indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada and carries penalties ranging from fines and probation to jail time, depending on the circumstances and criminal history.
