CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries is returning to downtown Cobourg for filming on Monday, May 26 and Tuesday, May 27.
Crews will shoot scenes in several areas downtown, including the exterior of Prep Food Co. on First Street Monday afternoon and evening. On Tuesday, filming continues throughout the day in multiple locations along King Street. These include King Street West near Brocanier’s Menswear, King Street East from Nessie’s British Shop to MacCoubrey Funeral Home, and at James W. Gordon Insurance.
The Town says there will be no full road closures, but drivers and pedestrians can expect intermittent traffic control while filming is underway. Horse and wagons will be part of the shoot and will be staged on Second Street. Production vehicles will be parked in portions of the Second Street and Albert Street municipal lots.
Cobourg Police Services will work closely with the production team to ensure traffic safety and smooth operations.
The production company, Shaftesbury Murdoch XiX, is thanking the community in advance for its cooperation. Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact Jackie Chapman Davis, Manager of Culture for the Town of Cobourg, at 905-372-9971 ext. 4363.
Filming in Cobourg is not new for the long-running Canadian detective series, which often selects the town for its historic charm and period-appropriate downtown architecture.
