Four people are facing assault charges after a man was seriously injured in a group attack in Port Hope on the evening of May 27.
Port Hope Police say the incident happened outside a residence and stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute between two former partners. According to police, one individual arrived at the location accompanied by three others, and the situation escalated into a verbal and physical confrontation with those already present.
During the altercation, a male victim was physically assaulted by the group and sustained significant injuries. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim was taken to Northumberland Hills Hospital for treatment.
Following an investigation, police laid charges of assault causing bodily harm against four individuals.
Victim Services has been engaged to offer support and safety planning to those impacted.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to contact Port Hope Police or Crime Stoppers.
