A new online tool from the Ontario government is helping students and job seekers across the province and here in Northumberland prepare for in-demand careers, says the province.
The tool called My Career Journey, which launched June 11, is designed to help people explore job opportunities, training programs and post-secondary options based on interests and goals. Users can explore regional maps, access career profiles in high-demand sectors such as skilled trades, healthcare, technology and education, and receive personalized career and education resources.
“This tool will protect Ontario students and workers by providing them with the information they need to find good-paying, in-demand work during this time of economic uncertainty,” said Colleges Minister Nolan Quinn.
The website is targeted at high school students, new Canadians and mid-career workers. It aligns with the government’s plan to grow Ontario’s economy, support local jobs, and respond to challenges like U.S. tariffs.
Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini, who also serves as minister of labour, immigration, training and skills development, said the tool is a timely resource for the region.
“Now, more than ever, we need to ensure job seekers are equipped with the tools they need to enter rewarding, good-paying careers,” Piccini said. “My Career Journey is another way our government is strengthening our workforce, boosting productivity and protecting Ontario’s economy.”
