The Town of Port Hope is advising residents and visitors of a temporary road closure at the intersection of Walton and Pine Streets starting Monday, June 16, due to ongoing construction work.
As crews continue to move westward along Walton Street, limited space for materials and equipment has prompted the need to temporarily close the intersection for safety and efficiency. The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks.
To support the Canada Day parade, the intersection will reopen briefly on July 1 before closing again for another two to three weeks to complete the next phase of work.
During the closure, Transit Route A will be detoured to avoid the intersection. The detour will travel north on Pine from South Street, west on Bruton, and south on Julia Street to Walton. As a result, bus stops A3 and A4 will be temporarily out of service. Riders are encouraged to use nearby stops along the detour route.
The Town appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as this key infrastructure work continues.
