Ontario Provincial Police say they’ve laid a first-degree murder charge in a decades-old cold case near Apsley.
According to police, Angelien Josephine Quesnelle, 40, was last seen on October 7, 1991, in Peterborough. She was reported missing two days later. Weeks after her disappearance, her vehicle was found in an abandoned quarry near Ridge Road and Highway 620. Her body was later discovered off McCoy Bay Road on November 15, 1991.
After 34 years of investigation, OPP arrested 70-year-old David Alexander Snow of Bath, Ontario, on June 19, 2025. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on August 12.
The case was investigated by the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch.
“Angelien Quesnelle was murdered in 1991 and, for 34 years, her family has lived without answers,” said Detective Inspector Shawn Glassford. “This arrest represents an important step toward providing Angelien’s family and the community of Apsley with the long-awaited answers they deserve.”
