An investigation is continuing after a fatal collision between a pick-up truck and train in the Hunt Road Brighton area, says OPP.
In an update on the afternoon of Monday, July 14, 2025, police confirmed the driver of the truck – a 69-year-old Frankford man – was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Official details earlier in the day were scarce, except that investigators had the roadway shut down at County Road 2.
In their afternoon update, OPP said their investigation is ongoing, but noted the road reopened just after 1 p.m.
According to police, emergency crews responded Monday at about 8:15 a.m. to reports of a collision between a train and pick-up truck on Hunt Road.
The road was closed as OPP and Canadian Pacific Railway conducted their on-site investigations between County Road 2 and about one kilometre south of Hunt Road.
No other details have been released.
