The Municipality of Port Hope says traffic and transit changes are coming with the return of the Port Hope Fair, which runs Thursday Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025.
McCaul Street will be closed east of Deblaquire Street throughout the event. To ease congestion and ensure emergency access to the fairgrounds and surrounding neighbourhood, no-parking rules will apply from 8 a.m. Thursday, September 11 to 5 p.m., as well as on Sunday for portions of Elgin, Deblaquire, College, Francis, McCaul and Ward streets. All usual no-parking restrictions will also remain in effect.
Transit users should note that route B will be rerouted during the fair. The bus will not stop directly at the Town Park Recreation Centre but will instead stop at the corner of Deblaquire and McCaul Streets.
To help visitors reach the fair, a free shuttle will operate from the 74 Queen St. parking lot on the south side of town hall to the Port Hope Fair’s main gate. Shuttle services will also run Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, September 14 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
