On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 8 p.m., Cobourg police say they responded to a retail theft after the fact at a downtown business.
The incident, believed to be connected to organized retail crime, prompted an investigation by officers.
As a result, police say that three Toronto youths, aged 15, 16, and 17, have now been arrested and jointly charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. In addition, the 15- and 16-year-olds were charged with one count each of breaching an undertaking.
All three youths have been released with a future court date. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are reminding the community that theft of any kind is taken seriously, particularly when connected to organized retail crime.
