After responding to a report of a truck in a ditch, police have recovered a stolen vehicle and made three arrests, says Northumberland OPP.
Police said on Oct. 5, 2025, at about 8:45 p.m., they responded to a report of a pick-up truck in a ditch on Bowmanton Road in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
After arriving on scene, police spoke with three vehicle occupants and through investigation, the driver was allegedly found to be suspended and the vehicle reported stolen from a Roseneath address back on Aug. 29, 2025, said OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 22-year-old Alnwick/Haldimand resident was charged with take motor vehicle without consent, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, use plate not authorized for vehicle, and having care or control of a vehicle with unsealed container of liquor.
Further, police said a 21-year-old Roseneath resident, and 19-year-old Alnwick/Haldimand resident, were both charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
None of these charges have been proven in court. The accused are set to appear in Cobourg court in November.
