Five Counties Children’s Centre is inviting residents to send meaningful holiday greetings while supporting children’s treatment services through its 2025 Holiday Card Fundraiser.
The sets of four cards, each featuring original artwork by a young Five Counties client, are being sold for fifteen dollars per pack, with all proceeds helping reduce wait times and expand access to essential therapy services.
Five Counties Kassie Graham tells us the fifteen-dollar card packs feature four original designs created by young clients, and the first print run has already sold out.
Graham says those wishing to purchase can now pre-order from the second printing currently underway. She tells us about the artists.
The card artwork was created by four young artists: Briar, age eight; Emberly, age five; Lilliana, age eight; and Londyn, age eight. Their work was selected through the Centre’s annual Holiday Card Colouring Contest, and staff say each design reflects creativity, growth and the resilience of the children behind them.
One of the featured artists, Emberly, was diagnosed early in life with PURA syndrome, a rare neurological genetic disorder that impacts motor development and speech. According to Graham, she continues to advance in strength and communication, including use of a LAMP speech-assistive device.
Graham says Emberly’s mother Amanda says Five Counties has provided essential services as well as a community of belonging and encouragement.
Cards can be pre-ordered online now and will be available for pickup at Five Counties locations in Peterborough, Cobourg or Lindsay once the second printing is completed. Staff emphasize these cards are more than seasonal stationery; they symbolize the progress and optimism of the children who created them.
Five Counties serves families across the region and relies on donor-supported initiatives like this fundraiser to ensure timely delivery of treatment and developmental support for more than a thousand local children each year.
