Downtown Cobourg will take on a cinematic atmosphere today as production teams film exterior scenes along King Street West for the Netflix series “Ginny & Georgia.”
Many residents will already have seen preparation over the past two days, with equipment staging, signage placement, and preliminary setup outside Victoria Hall and The EL restaurant. Today marks the live filming day, with tear-down scheduled for tomorrow.
The production crew is utilizing municipal lots including Trinity and Marina Lot, as well as designated on-street parking spaces on Second Street, Third Street, and King Street West. The Town says the production company is paying standard municipal rates for use of these spaces.
There are no full road closures planned, but visitors downtown may experience intermittent delays, minor detours, and redirected pedestrian flow. For authenticity in filming, U.S. flags are temporarily in place along King Street, including one displayed in front of Victoria Hall, and a temporary outdoor patio has been constructed in front of The EL.
Residents with questions or concerns about the production are encouraged to contact Jackie Chapman Davis, Manager of Culture for the Town of Cobourg, at 905-372-9971 ext. 4363.
The Town extends thanks to residents and businesses for their cooperation and notes that increased filming activity contributes to local economic support, promotion of Cobourg as a desirable filming location, and broader cultural exposure for the community.
