Port Hope Police say a shoplifting incident on November 26 at a local pharmacy led to the arrest of two adult males after officers located the suspect vehicle travelling on Highway 401.
Police say they conducted a traffic stop and took both individuals into custody without incident.
According to police, one of the accused is charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Due to existing court conditions, that individual was held for a bail hearing. The second suspect is also charged with Theft Under $5,000 and was released on conditions pending a future court date.
Police say the investigation remains active and anyone with information that may assist is encouraged to contact Port Hope Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
