Cobourg police have arrested two residents for breaching multiple release conditions.
On December 8, 2025, officers observed a 29-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man together near King Street West and Division Street, despite conditions prohibiting them from contacting each other.
The 29-year-old woman was charged with five counts of failure to comply with a Release Order and Probation Order. She also faces charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime from a previous shoplifting incident. The 33-year-old man was charged with two counts of failure to comply with a Release Order and Probation Order. Both were held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing on December 9, 2025.
Police note the woman has a history of repeated offenses, with seven arrests and 20 charges since December 2024, and 47 recorded interactions with officers over the past year.
The man has four arrests, eight charges, and 34 police interactions during the same period.
