The Town of Cobourg has called a special council meeting for today (Monday, Dec. 15) which will start 10:30 a.m. after a petition signed by a majority of council members.
The purpose is to review, deliberate, and potentially amend Mayor Lucas Cleveland’s proposed 2026 operating and capital budget, which includes a recommended 2.7 per cent municipal levy increase.
The meeting will follow a hybrid model, allowing the public to attend in-person or participate electronically via Zoom. Speakers may address the budget item for up to 10 minutes.
Residents can watch the live stream at www.cobourg.ca/escribe and review all proposed budget documents at www.EngageCobourg.ca/2026Budget.
