Northumberland Hills Hospital is inviting residents to take part in the third public forum for its Master Plan project, Growing Care for the Future.
The virtual session is set for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. The forum will focus on outpatient services, including emergency care, ambulatory clinics, cancer treatment, dialysis, and community mental health and addiction programs.
Susan Walsh, NHH President and CEO, says feedback collected during previous forums on inpatient services, a new MRI, and a fourth operating room has been invaluable in shaping planning priorities. This next session will allow the community to provide input on outpatient services, helping guide the hospital’s long-term roadmap.
Population projections show Northumberland County will grow at least 22 percent over the next 20 years, and an aging population is expected to increase demand for complex care. More than three-quarters of hospital inpatient days are currently attributed to patients 65 and older.
Launched in May 2025, the Master Planning process involves staff, physicians, patients, caregivers, volunteers, and community partners, supported by planning and health system experts. It aims to create a 20- to 30-year redevelopment plan, identifying service needs, facility upgrades, and innovation opportunities while ensuring environmental sustainability.
Residents who cannot attend the forum can review materials and provide feedback through the hospital’s online survey. Input collected will help ensure NHH continues to meet the healthcare needs of current and future generations.
