A fundraising initiative led by Northumberland Paramedics has raised more than $1,200 for local charities, combining community support with a bit of tail-wagging charm.
Proceeds from the 2026 Paramedic Therapy Dog Calendar, along with fundraising activities such as staff dress-down days, were split evenly between Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre and the Northumberland Humane Society. The calendar features Ivy Joules, the paramedics’ therapy dog, in a series of seasonal and light-hearted photos.
More than 120 calendars were purchased during a limited pre-sale, contributing significantly to the total funds raised. Paramedic officials say the response highlights strong community engagement and support for causes that assist vulnerable residents and animals.
Funds directed to Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre will help support programs and services for individuals and families seeking safety and stability. The Northumberland Humane Society plans to use its share to continue caring for animals and promoting responsible pet ownership throughout the county.
Paramedic leaders say the fundraiser reflects the service’s commitment to giving back beyond emergency response, while also celebrating the positive role therapy dogs can play in supporting community well-being.
