Northumberland OPP has laid a charge in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Campbellford.
Police say the investigation began February 21, 2026, after a victim reported an incident believed to have occurred the previous day at a commercial premises on Front Street North in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
With assistance from the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit, the detachment took a suspect into custody on February 27.
Adam McMillan, 43, of Campbellford, has been charged with sexual assault.
The accused was held for bail and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
Northumberland OPP is asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a similar incident, or who has information related to the investigation, to contact 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online.
There is no statute of limitations on sexual offences, and reports can be made at any time.

Northumberland OPP says no further information will be released at this time.
