A 14-year-old Brighton youth is facing serious charges after Northumberland OPP says police responded to a disturbance call Monday evening.
According to Northumberland OPP, officers responded to a Lakeview Heights residence just before 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, following a report that an individual was allegedly making threats and throwing items in the residence.
After arriving on scene, police confirmed they took one person into custody.
“There were no serious injuries reported,” added OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 14-year-old female from the Municipality of Brighton was charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering threats, failure to comply with a release order, and breach of recognizance.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
Police said the accused will not be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
