A Cobourg man is facing multiple charges following a reported theft and assault in the town’s west end.
Cobourg Police say officers were called to the area of Ball Street and Balls Lane on Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m. after a complainant reported that unknown individuals had entered a backyard and stolen property.
According to police, the complainant later located the suspects nearby and confronted them. During the confrontation, one of the suspects allegedly struck the complainant with an unknown object.
Paramedics attended the scene and treated the victim for minor injuries.
Following an investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old Cobourg man on March 14, 2026.
He has been charged with assault and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say the accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
