The Capitol Theatre in Port Hope has unveiled casting for its 2026 summer season, highlighting a lineup of Canadian talent across four mainstage productions.
The “Where Our Stories Begin” season will run from May through early September and includes a mix of musicals, comedy and drama.
Opening the season is You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, running May 15 to 31, followed by Liars at a Funeral from June 12 to 28. The summer continues with the musical Come From Away from July 10 to August 2, and concludes with the thriller Gaslight, running August 21 to September 6.
The theatre says the season features both returning performers and artists making their Capitol debut, drawing from stages across the country.
In addition to the mainstage productions, the Capitol will also present its Second Stage Series in the more intimate Sculthorpe Theatre, including several world premiere performances. A year round concert lineup is also planned as part of its music programming.
Officials say the season reflects a balance of large scale productions and smaller, character driven works, with a focus on Canadian stories and performers.
Full season subscriptions remain available, and single tickets for all productions go on sale March 31 at 10 a.m.
The Capitol Theatre says audiences are encouraged to plan ahead for what is expected to be a busy summer of live performance in Port Hope. Get all the details on their website.
