The third annual Battle of the Badges charity hockey game is set to return to Cobourg this weekend, bringing together local first responders and residents in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northumberland.
The event will see the Cobourg Police Service face off against the Cobourg Fire Department at the Cobourg Community Centre on Saturday, April 4. A ceremonial puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m., with free admission and donations encouraged at the door.
Mayor Lucas Cleveland tells us more.
The evening will also include a range of activities leading up to the game, designed to engage families and attendees of all ages.
Proceeds from the event will support mentoring programs that connect children and youth with positive role models in the community.
Organizers say early support has been strong, with thousands already raised through sponsorship and donations.
The event continues to grow each year, offering a chance for the community to come together while supporting local youth.
