The Cobourg Police Service says its newly upgraded accessible front entrance is now open for public use.
Police say construction on the accessibility improvements at the station has been completed, including a newly built front door ramp at the main entrance.
The front entrance has now reopened to residents and visitors using the station.
Officials say the work is part of a broader commitment by both Cobourg Police Service and the Town of Cobourg to ensure the police station is accessible, inclusive, and welcoming for everyone in the community.
Police are thanking residents for their patience and cooperation during the construction period while the upgrades were completed.
The accessible entrance is intended to improve ease of access for people visiting the station for in-person services, front counter support, and general public inquiries.
Cobourg Police Service says front counter hours remain Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The station is closed on weekends and statutory holidays.
In addition to in-person services, several services are also available online through the Cobourg Police Service website.
These include criminal record check applications, freedom of information requests, motor vehicle collision report requests, online reporting of non-emergency crime, and bike registration.
Police say the improvements reflect ongoing efforts to improve public access and service delivery for residents across the community.
