Residents across have just days left to share their input on the future of healthcare services at Northumberland Hills Hospital.
The hospital’s community survey for its Master Plan, titled Growing Care for the Future, will close at 12 noon on Monday, May 11.
Since November, Northumberland Hills Hospital has been engaging with residents, community organizations, and partners through a range of activities, including one-on-one meetings, group discussions, virtual forums, and surveys. The goal has been to gather feedback on current hospital services and identify priorities for future growth.
Hospital officials say the feedback reflects the needs of a diverse and growing community, including residents in Cobourg, Port Hope, and surrounding areas.
President and CEO Susan Walsh says the response has been strong, with valuable insights shared by healthcare partners, students, local leaders, and community members.
She says anyone who has not yet had an opportunity to provide input is encouraged to complete the survey before the deadline.
The information collected will be analyzed and included in a formal submission later this summer to the Ministry of Health and Ontario Health, outlining long-term program and facility needs.
Officials note that planning for new healthcare spaces is a complex, multi-year process, and the ideas gathered through this phase are conceptual and will continue to evolve.
Further opportunities for community engagement are expected as planning moves forward.
Residents can learn more and access the survey through the Northumberland Hills Hospital website at nhh.ca.
