If you’re in the mood for live music under the open sky this summer, downtown Brighton is the place to be.
Brighton’s popular Concerts in the Park series is just around the corner and will feature more than a dozen artists from Northumberland and nearby over the course of the summer at Memorial Park.
Brighton community events committee chair Lloyd Hutchinson tells us more.
The concerts will mean live performances on the outdoor stage at the park every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. And the rain date will again be the following night (Thursday) at the same time.
The series shines a light on local artists and offers residents and visitors a chance to take in live entertainment for free – attendees only need to bring a lawn chair or blanket, explains Hutchinson.
Hutchinson tells us more about this year’s lineup.
After Bentwood Rocker kicks the series off June 3, performances will continue until the end of August. The program used to run two months but has expanded to three months since the COVID-19 pandemic and council continues to support this, notes Hutchinson.
And if the live performances aren’t enough to entice you, there are also some additional sweet treats and opportunities to give back throughout the summer.
“We do have people dance on the walkway or on the road,” added Hutchinson, noting the road is blocked during the performances and it’s just an all-around great evening every Wednesday.
The detailed lineup is accessible for all three months is accessible here.
