A 32 year old Port Hope man is facing an impaired driving charge following a traffic stop late Wednesday night.
Port Hope Police say an officer observed a vehicle travelling without headlights at approximately 10:08 p.m. on May 27.
Police also reported the vehicle was displaying driving behaviour consistent with possible impairment.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Investigators say the officer observed signs consistent with alcohol consumption, leading to an impaired driving investigation.
The driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving.
Police have not released the identity of the accused.
Port Hope Police are reminding motorists that impaired driving continues to pose serious risks to public safety and are encouraging residents to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 9 1 1.
