Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is once again inviting residents to squeeze a little more good into their summer with the return of Lemon-Aid for NHH.
The annual fundraiser encourages people of all ages to host lemonade stands throughout Northumberland County, raising money in support of patient care and healthcare services at Northumberland Hills Hospital.
Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has raised more than $24,000 while becoming a popular summer tradition in communities across the region.
“What started as a fun community fundraiser has grown into a summer tradition,” said Rhonda Cunningham, CEO of the NHH Foundation. “We love seeing participants of all ages, as well as local businesses, put their own unique spin on their lemonade stands while supporting our hospital.”
The fundraiser is once again sponsored by Davis’ Your Independent Grocer in Port Hope. Participants who register will receive a starter kit to help get their lemonade stand up and running.
There are no age restrictions for taking part, and the Foundation is encouraging both returning participants and first-time hosts to get involved.
Throughout the summer, locations of participating lemonade stands will be shared on the Foundation’s website and social media channels, giving residents opportunities to support local fundraisers throughout the county.
This year’s proceeds will be used to purchase special comfort items for patients, including beanie babies for children receiving care through Surgical Services and beanie hats for patients at the Lions and Lioness Cancer and Supportive Care Clinic.
A final fundraising total will be announced at the end of the summer.
Residents interested in hosting a lemonade stand can register through the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
More information, including a list of participating stands, is available at NHHFoundation.ca.
