Port Hope residents are being advised of an upcoming temporary closure at the Jack Burger Sports Complex as the facility undergoes scheduled maintenance work.
The pools and hot tub will close beginning June 22 for bi-annual maintenance, with the shutdown extending through July 5.
Officials say the maintenance is part of regular efforts to keep the facility operating safely and efficiently while ensuring infrastructure remains in good condition for users.
While the aquatic facilities will be closed throughout the maintenance period, front desk staff will remain available on-site from June 22 to June 24 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The entire Jack Burger Sports Complex will then close from June 25 through July 5 as maintenance work expands to other areas of the facility.
The municipality says all amenities within the complex will be unavailable during that period.
The facility is scheduled to fully reopen on Monday, July 6.
Residents with questions during the closure can still receive assistance from municipal staff at the Town Park Recreation Centre on McCaul Street. Staff will be available during regular business hours to help with inquiries and provide information about recreation services.
Officials note that regular maintenance plays an important role in ensuring pools, mechanical systems and other infrastructure continue to operate properly and safely.
The municipality is apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and thanking residents for their patience while the work is completed.
Additional information about recreation facilities and services is available through the Municipality of Port Hope.
