A community fundraiser featuring local pets and their owners has raised $1,000 for the Northumberland Humane Society.
The team at Thomas Buick GMC who hosted the event say the fundraiser’s success was made possible through the generosity of residents who attended, made donations and brought their dogs out to participate.
Funds raised through the event will help support the Northumberland Humane Society’s ongoing work providing shelter, care and support for animals awaiting adoption.
Organizers thanked the many volunteers, sponsors and vendors who helped make the fundraiser possible, along with the pet owners who participated throughout the day.
They noted that every dollar raised will help provide essential care and services for animals as they wait to find permanent homes.
The Northumberland Humane Society works with animals from across the county, providing shelter, medical care, adoption services and education programs aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership.
NHS continues to rely on donations, volunteers and community fundraising efforts to support its programs and services throughout the year.
