The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge is inviting residents from across the region to take part in its fourth annual Change the Cycle fundraiser this Saturday in Peterborough.
The event takes place June 20 at Nicholls Oval, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and riders setting off at 10 a.m.
Participants can choose from three cycling routes – four, 12 or 26 kilometres – along Peterborough’s Rotary Trail. Registration costs $20, while children 12 and under can participate free of charge.
Each registered rider will receive a commemorative T-shirt, take part in the organized ride and enjoy a barbecue lunch following the event.
Organizers say proceeds from Change the Cycle help support unfunded and non-annualized mental health programs offered through CMHA HKPR. The fundraiser is intended to help bridge funding gaps and ensure individuals and families can continue accessing important mental health supports and services.
This year’s event will also feature the debut of the official Change the Cycle theme song, Let’s Go For a Ride, provided by local band Soup.
CMHA HKPR is also recognizing its 2026 Agents of Change, including Michelle Mackey, Linda Kash, Phil Jolicoeur and Peterborough Petes mascot Roger, for helping raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives.
Those unable to participate in the ride can still support the fundraiser through online donations and by cheering on riders throughout the day.
Additional information and registration details are available at ChangeTheCycle.net.
