Northumberland’s housing market saw another active month in June, with home sales increasing while average prices continued to ease.
The latest figures from the Central Lakes Association of REALTORS® (CLAR) show 152 homes sold across Northumberland County in June, up from 128 sales in May and 130 sales in June 2025.
The average selling price was $677,570, down 2.6 per cent from $695,364 in May and about 4.9 per cent from $712,135 a year ago. Meanwhile, sellers brought more inventory to market, with 423 new listings, an increase of 11.3 per cent over May and nearly 9.3 per cent higher than June 2025.
Homes spent an average of 45 days on the market, giving buyers more time and more choice than in many recent years.
Across the six CLAR regions, June marked the fourth consecutive month in which every market posted month-over-month increases in sales activity. CLAR President Christine Riley says the trend reflects growing buyer confidence while continuing to provide opportunities for both buyers and sellers, although market conditions remain unique from one community to another.
CLAR CEO Wendy Giroux also welcomed efforts by municipalities to pursue new provincial and federal funding aimed at reducing development charges and supporting the construction of additional housing, saying increased supply will be key to improving affordability over the long term.
For Northumberland, the June numbers suggest a market that remains active, with rising sales, growing inventory and moderating prices compared with both last month and last year.
