The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating after possible human remains were reported found along the Trent River in northern Quinte West.
Police say testing is underway to determine whether the remains are human.
The investigation began after a report was made Monday regarding what was described as a possible human leg bone found in the area.
Several OPP vehicles were seen at the scene for an extended period of time as officers investigated. A forensic vehicle was also reportedly present.
Few details have been released by police at this time, including information about the identity of the remains or when they may have been left in the area.
The OPP says further information will be provided when it becomes available.
