The Elliott Insurance Services All Hands on Deck Food Drive is underway, with residents across Cobourg and Northumberland being encouraged to help support local food security.
93.3 myFM and Classic Rock 107.9 are collecting food and cash donations at seven locations: No Frills, Foodland, Walmart, Giant Tiger Cobourg, Metro, Food Basics and the Independent.
Donations are being accepted until 6 p.m. tonight, giving residents time to stop by and contribute to local food banks.
MBC’s Tommy West says the annual food drive is about helping families facing hunger close to home.
West says the generosity shown by the community during last year’s campaign demonstrates the difference residents can make when they come together.
The event is also supported by local businesses, with West saying their involvement helps make the one-day campaign possible.
Every food or cash donation can make a difference. Residents can visit any of the seven collection locations before 6 p.m. tonight and help fill the shelves for those who need it most.
