Cobourg residents are being encouraged to check their information on the municipal voters list ahead of the October 26 election.
The Town of Cobourg says the list of eligible electors has now been prepared by the Municipal Clerk’s Office.
Residents can use the Town’s new online Voter Lookup tool to confirm they are on the list, or to add or update their information. Residents can also contact the Clerk’s Office at Victoria Hall in person, by calling 905-372-4301 ext. 9520 or by emailing cobourgvotes@cobourg.ca.
Photo identification and proof of residence will be required when making changes through the Clerk’s Office.
Beginning September 15, election staff will also be available at the Cobourg Public Library at 200 Ontario Street every Tuesday and Thursday until voting day. Tuesday sessions run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., while Thursday sessions run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Town says Voter Instruction Letters will be mailed during the week of October 5. The letters will contain a personal identification number, the web address for the voting portal and other important election information.
Anyone who has not received their letter by October 16 can visit Victoria Hall or a Voter Help Centre with photo identification and proof of address.
Voter Help Centres will be available at Victoria Hall, the Cobourg Public Library and the Cobourg Community Centre during the voting period.
On Election Day, October 26, all three locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with secure voting kiosks and staff available to assist residents.
