Brook Road North in Cobourg will be closed for six days next week to allow Canadian National Railway to carry out upgrades at the rail crossing.
The closure is scheduled from Sept. 13 to 18 between Elgin Street East and King Street. The road is currently operating with alternating lane restrictions.
Separate detours will be available for passenger vehicles and trucks during the closure.
Local access will be maintained where possible, while traffic-control measures will be in place near the construction area.
Motorists are being advised to follow posted detour signs, expect delays and allow extra time for their trips. Emergency services, transit and school transportation providers have been notified of the closure.
