“Mr. Game Seven” is coming to Sportsnet this season.
Justin Williams will be joining the panel on Sportsnet’s Monday Night Hockey along with David Amber and Luke Gazdic.
Cobourg’s own Williams built a reputation as one of the NHL’s most dependable playoff performers during a career that included three Stanley Cup championships.
Williams captured the Cup with Carolina in 2006 before winning twice more with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and 2014. He earned the nickname “Mr. Game Seven” after helping his teams to eight wins in nine career Game 7 appearances.
He scored seven goals in those games, tying Glenn Anderson for the NHL record, while his 15 Game 7 points remain an outright league record. Williams also won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 2014.
Also returning for the 2026-27 season is national hockey coverage, with “Saturday Night Hockey” returning Oct. 3 under host Ron MacLean.
