The first stop on a provincewide skilled-trades tour drew more than 2,300 students, families and job seekers to Cobourg last week.
The Level Up! Skilled Trades Fair, held Sept. 23 and 24 at the Columbus Community Centre, featured 35 exhibitors and hands-on displays highlighting career opportunities in Ontario’s more than 140 skilled trades.
Organizers said 2,104 students from Grades 7 to 12, representing 33 schools, attended the event.
The Cobourg fair launched a 12-city tour expected to reach more than 50,000 students across Ontario this fall. The event has since moved on to its next communities.
