A 61-year-old man is facing several charges following a break-and-enter investigation in Hamilton Township.
Northumberland OPP officers were called to an unoccupied home on County Road 45 at about 5:30 p.m. Oct. 3 after a report of a break-in. Police say the residence had recently been occupied without permission, although no one was found at the property.
A Scenes of Crime Officer assisted with the investigation as officers continued to gather evidence and identify a suspect.
Police later arrested Cecil Parsons, of no fixed address, in Cobourg.
Parsons faces charges of break and enter a dwelling house to commit an indictable offence, unlawfully being in a dwelling house, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in November.
