A local breast-cancer survivor dragon boat team is planning a day of fundraising next month to help purchase a new 20-seat boat.
Survivor Thrivers, which serves Cobourg, Port Hope and the surrounding Northumberland community, will host its “Choose Your Own Eventure” fundraiser Nov. 7 at the Masonic Temple in Port Hope.
The event features a bake and coffee sale from noon to 3 p.m., modern line dancing with Tracey from 3:30 to 5 p.m., and Dancing Bee make-and-take sessions from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Residents can attend one activity or take part in all three. The team hopes to raise $25,000 toward its new dragon boat.
