Two people have found quite the connection – an “August Connection”.
Just over a year ago Heather met her now forever friend, Holly.
They were introduced by friends and found out immediately that we had both suffered stillbirths, and unbelievably, their babies had the same birthday, but one year apart: Heather’s Chloe was born still on August 11th, 2015, and Holly had Lawrence on August 11th, 2016. Heather tells us more.
They obviously had an immediate bond, and have grown closer and closer ever since – Holly tells us about their immediate connection.
Holly tells us there was a huge gap in care for mothers, fathers and siblings within the community when you lose a baby, and wanted to try and change this.
For the past year they have been working away on setting up a local charity, a support network for bereaved parents in our area, as there was nothing currently in place.
Heather says there is gold at the end of the rainbow, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t bittersweet.
Their vision is being brought to life with a charity they developed, namely, “The August Connection”. And a connection they have. Holly tells us more.
Heather says the holiday time can be a very intimidating and upsetting season to navigate after a loss so they’re having Christmas Social.
All are welcome on December 10th at 5:30 pm at the Rustic Bean.
